AFP baklasin sa Mindanao — LFS (PNoy kinondena sa Lumad killings)

IGINIIT ang agarang pagbaklas sa military troops sa Mindanao, pinangunahan ng League of Filipino Students (LFS) ang mga estudyante ng University of the Philippines Manila sa isinagawang kilos-proteta sa harap ng Department of Justice (DoJ) kahapon.

Kaugnay nito, nangako si Justice Secretary Leila de Lima ng suporta sa pagsasagawa ng independent, inter-agency probe hinggil sa paglabag sa karapatang pantao sa highly-militarized Lumad communities sa Mindanao.

Gayonman, sinabi ng LFS na mas mainam na ipatigil ng DoJ ang aktibidad ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) sa Mindanao at agarang baklasin doon ang military troops.

“The state of severe human rights crisis in Mindanao has become increasingly alarming. The situation should prompt the DoJ to go beyond investigations and act for the immediate pull-out of AFP troops who are the main perpetrators of violence against Lumads,” pahayag ni LFS spokesperson Charisse Bañez.

Kasabay nito, binatikos ng grupo ang pahayag ni Pangulong Benigno Aquino III kaugnay sa pagpaslang sa mga Lumad. Nang tanungin hinggil sa serye ng pagpaslang sa mga Lumad, sa ginanap na Inquirer’s multimedia forum kamakalawa, iginiit ni Aquino na “there is no campaign to kill anybody” sa bansa.

“Aquino’s response was simply empty. Our Lumad brothers and sisters are mercilessly killed yet the president still didn’t speak about condemnation. He didn’t even give a slight bit of recognition for the issue,” pahayag ni Bañez.

Tinuligsa rin ng youth leader si Aquino sa pagdepensa sa militarisasyon sa pagsasabing ang kampanya lamang ay para sa mga nakagawa ng krimen.

“By saying this, Aquino consequently justifies the heightened militarization of Lumad communities. This shows Aquino’s bloodguilt on the military attacks,” ayon kay Bañez.

Iginiit ng LFS, dapat panagutin si Aquino sa pagpapahintulot sa pag-atake sa mga Lumad sa pamamagitan ng kanyang counter-insurgency program Oplan Bayanihan.

“Attacks against indigenous peoples across the country has turned to worse as Aquino’s Oplan Bayanihan reaches its final phase. Civilians are illegally detained, tortured, or killed under the military’s notion that they are all rebels. This bloody mess urges us to hold the Aquino regime accountable and end militarization of communities in the countryside,” pagtatapos ni Bañez.

Samantala, binatikos ng Save Our Schools Network si Pangulong Benigno Aquino III kaugnay sa anila’y agad na pagdepensa sa Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) hinggil sa pagkakasangkot sa pagpaslang sa mga Lumad sa Mindanao.

“It is very early for the president to jump into conclusions without even listening to the accounts of direct victims of military and AFP-backed paramilitary forces  atrocities, especially women and children,” pahayag ni Kharlo Manano, Save Our Schools Network spokesperson.

“Aquino gives blanket of protection and impunity over the AFP and its paramilitary forces, instead of helping the victims of their atrocities,” ani Manano.

Aniya, patuloy ang paggiit ng pangulo na ang polisiya ng kanyang administrasyon ay para pagsilbihan ang bayan, ngunit buo ang pagsuporta sa Oplan Bayanihan, ang counter-insurgency program ng kanyang administrasyon na nagresulta sa maramihang pagpatay, encampment, at pag-atake sa mga paaralan at komuhidad gayondin sa maramihang pagpapalikas sa mga sibilyan.
