PDP ‘di dapat mabahala — NUP

HINDI dapat matakot ang Partido Demokra­tikong Pilipino (PDP) sa National Unity Party dahil wala sa plano ng mga miyembro nito ang pagtakbo sa mataas ng puwesto sa pamahalaan.

Ayon kay Dasmariñas City Rep. Elpidio Barza­ga, presidente ng NUP, mula sa pagkakabuo ng grupo ang pakay nila ay maging isang maliit na partidong tutulong sa pagkakabuo ng mga mambabatas.

“We do not consider ourselves as a threat to the PDP-Laban because from the inception of the NUP our purpose was merely to have a small political party which would be helping the nation in order to forge unity among legislators and our people,” ani Barzaga sa interbyu sa ANC.

Hindi, aniya, kaila­ngan mangamba ang PDP sa paglaki ng NUP.

“I don’t think that they have to worry about the NUP. In the first place we’re not interested in any national candidate for president, vice president, and senator. We have not fielded any candidate insofar as senators, president and vice president are concerned because from the very start our purpose was to have a small political party which we would be able to manage and at the same time will be an asset for the people,” pali­wanag ni Barzaga.

Aniya, hindi sila nag-iisip na magpatakbo ng kahit isang miyembro sa pagka-senador o sa mas mataas pang posisyon sa 2022.

Ngunit sinabi ni Bar­za­ga, maaaring mag­karoon ng miyembro  na puwedeng maging kan­didato sa darating na eleksiyon.

Matatandaan, lumaki ang bilang ng miyembro ng NUP matapos suma­nib si Davao Rep. Paolo Duterte sa partido.

Karamihan sa tuma­lon dito ay mula sa PDP Laban.

Sabi ni Barzaga, hindi sila nag-recruit mula sa kahit anong partido.
