Sa naganap na pamamaril sa eskuwelahan sa Tacloban
APPS NG GAMING NA GOREBOX, IPINAGBAWAL NG CICC

PANSAMANTALANG ipinagbawal ng Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) ang application ng gaming na GoreBox kasunod ng pamamaril sa paaralan sa Tacloban City na ikinasawi ng tatlong estudyante, at 20 iba pa ang nasaktan at nasugatan.

Ginawa ang hakbang batay sa nabatid sa imbestigasyon ng pulisya na ang isa sa mga estudyanteng Grade 9 na sangkot sa insidente ng pamamaril sa San Jose National High School ay isang masugid na manlalaro ng online game, na nagpapahintulot mag-eksperimento sa iba’t ibang armas at kilala sa mga graphic na paglalarawan nito ng karahasan.

Sinabi ni Police Regional 8 (PRO8) director, P/BGen. Jayson Capoy, isa sa mga estudyante ang regular na naglalaro ng GoreBox.

“We are blocking Gorebox temporarily as a precautionary measure pending the investigation. Within the day, expect the app to be blocked,” pahayag ni CICC Undersecretary Aboy Paraiso.

Sa pakikipagtulungan sa Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC), pinaigting ng Threat Monitoring Center (TMC) ng CICC ang pagbabantay nito sa mga aktibidad sa online, kabilang ang mga kinasasangkutan ng GoreBox at mga katulad na platform.

“We cannot ignore possible online influences that may have contributed to this tragic incident. Temporarily blocking the game will allow authorities to conduct a thorough assessment and whether the platform played any role in the actions of the suspects,” giit  ni Paraiso.

“Our priority is the safety and well-being of Filipino children exposed to the internet. Beyond this temporary ban, we are reinforcing our monitoring efforts to identify online spaces that may pose risks to young users and to ensure that appropriate interventions are made immediately,” dagdag ng CICC chief.
