a. MIAA’s 2016-2019 dividend remittances only total P9.477-billion, a clear misstatement of data by more than 46.67-percent.
b. From 2016-2019, MIAA’s operating revenue only increased a modest average of 8.24-percent from P11.96-billion to P15.16-billion, while 2013-2016’s operating revenue increased at a higher average rate of 11.25-percent. There is thus nothing extraordinary with the performance of the current MIAA leadership compared to previous governments.
c. DoTr-MIAA is making it seem that dividend remittances to the national treasury are the only good and reasonable use of airport income. On the contrary, MIAA’s actual P9.477-billion remittance could have been used to expedite NAIA’s rehabilitation.”
(ROSE NOVENARIO)
