Ayon sa social media post ng IdeaFirst, “To ensure that the country’s legacy of dramatic writing will continue, we will be launching THE FILIPINO PLAYWRIGHT’S PRIZE (TFPP), a nationwide competition for full-length and one-act plays in Filipino. The sole winner in the full length category will receive 100,000 pesos while 50,000 pesos will go to the sole winner in the one-act play category.”
Malapit sa puso ni Direk Jun ang playwrights dahil aniya, “I started my career as a playwright under the mentorship of the great Rene O. Villanueva. Theater has always been my first love. It was heartbreaking to see the shutdown of theater productions during the pandemic. Through this annual competition, we want to motivate our playwrights to continue telling stories for the stage as we all look forward to the day when we can all gather together again to watch their creations performed on live theater.”
“This is a pet project of @junrobleslana that he has been thinking about for a while. Please read why and please support
THE FILIPINO PLAYWRIGHT’S PRIZE (TFPP), a nationwide competition for full-length and one-act plays in Filipino,” tweet ni Direk Perci.
