NIREREPASO ng Palasyo ang appointment ni National Food Authority (NFA) Administrator Orlan Calayag matapos mapaulat na isa siyang Amerikano.
“There is an ongoing review and verification process to address other issues pertinent to his appointment,” Ayon kay Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Herminio Coloma, Jr.
Ngunit pinabulaanan ng Office of the Executive Secretary (OES) ang balitang binago ang petsa ng appointment ni Calayag upang makaiwas sa appointment ban sa nakalipas na halalan sa barangay.
“The first appointment of Administrator Calayag is dated 17 January 2013, and the text of the appointment reads as follows: ‘To serve the term of office beginning on 01 July 2012 and ending 30 June 2013, vice Angelito T. Banayo.’ There was no antedating of his appointment. The text of the appointment only refers to the original term of office of Mr. Banayo, who Mr. Calayag was appointed to replace,” anang pahayag ng OES.
Nangangahulugan aniyang ini-reappoint lang si Calayag sa pwesto noong Hulyo 12, 2013 nang matapos niyang pagsilbihan ang natitirang termino ni Banayo mula Enero 17 hanggang Hunyo 30, 2013, alinsunod sa Republic Act 10149 o Governance Commission for Government-owned and Controlled Corporations.
