Comelec binatikos ng netizens sa pagtameme sa sirang VCMs

BINATIKOS ng netizens ang Commission on Elections (Comelec) sa katahimikan sa isyu ng pagkasira ng mga server at vote counting machines (VCMs).

Ayon kay Jinky Jorgio ng Otso Diretso, alas onse na ng gabi, wala pa rin nagpapaliwanag sa Comelec kung ano ‘yung ‘glitch’ na nangyayari at bakit may delay sa transmission ng mga resulta mula sa mga probinsiya patungo sa Comelec.

“Bakit ang nagtatago ang mga Comelec officials? Anybody, anyone, Comelec. Chair Abbas? Lahat naman ng Comelec Chair appointed ng Presidente pero ikaw lang ang parang walang masabi,” ayon kay Jorgio sa post niya sa Facebook.

Nanawagan ang Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) party-list Rep. Antonio Tinio na magpaliwanag kung ano ang nangyari sa transparency server nila.

“We call on Comelec to explain why their transparency server, which is supposed to provide election results to the public as vote counts are transmitted to Comelec from the precinct level, has not been updated since 6:15 pm.”

Anila, malayong-malayo ang sitwasyon ngayon kaysa eleksiyon noong 2013 at 2016 na ang Comelec ay nakapagbibigay ng resulta sa publiko sa oras na nangyayari ito.

“One of the touted benefits of automation is supposed to be the quick and transparent counting of votes. This is beginning to feel like a throwback to the pre-automation era,” ayon sa ACT Teachers party-list.

“Taxpayers have paid billions for this automated election system. Please explain, Comelec,” pahayag nila.
