KINUNAN ang Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral sa loob ng 60 araw sa loob ng walong buwan sa iba’t ibang lokasyon tulad ng Tarlac, Bataan, Rizal, Batangas, Ilocos at iba pa. Ito ang kompirmasyon nina TBA Studio’s executive producers, Fernando Ortigas at E.A. Rocha ukol sa kung gaano kalaki ang pelikulang pinagbibidahan ni Paulo Avelino kompara sa pelikula ni John Arcilla.
Bukod dito, hindi lamang sa scope at production malaki ang Goyo bagkus pati sa emosyon.
“We expect people to get a terrific ebb and flow of emotion reactions that will deal in an indelible memory or experience,” sambit ni Rocha. ”The Filipino audience can expect a world standard, a world-class cinema I hope they appreciate and realize that we put out the necessary budget and effort to give the Filipino moviegoers the best film that we think they deserve.”
Sinabi pa ni Ortigas na isang epic story ang Goyo kaya, ”We had to give Jerrold (Tarog) his vision.We knew from the beginning that Goyo had to be much bigger than Luna. As the producers, whatever Jerrold needed for the set, it was there.”
Napag-alaman naming para masunod ang vision ng director nitong si Jerrold Tarog, kinailangan nilang kumuha ng mahigit 2,000 talent at cast at gumawa ng buong movie set na maghihitsurang 1800 ang Tarlac.
Nang tanungin naman kung bakit importanteng maihayag ang kuwento ni Gregorio del Pilar, sinabi ni Jerrold na, ”In many ways, ‘yung kuwento ni Goyo, para siyang a call to critical thinking. Kinukuwestiyon niya ‘yung sarili niya, kinukuwestiyon niya kung bakit ginagawa ito. And in a way, ‘yun din ‘yung magiging tanong ng audience kapag lumabas sila ng sinehan.”
Idinagdag pa ni Jerrold na, ”Ano ba talaga ‘yung ipinaglaban ni Goyo? Pag-ibig ba? Si Aguinaldo ba? O ‘yung bayan? I think magandang pag-isipan ‘yun niyong audience, especially ng kabataan.”
Bukod kay Paolo, bida rin dito sina Gwen Zamora bilang Remedios Nable Jose; Empress Schuck bilang Felicidad Aguinaldo; Carlo Aquino bilang Col. Vicente Enriquez; at Rafa Siguion Reyna bilang Col. Julian del Pilar.
Kasama rin sina Mon Confiado bilang si Pres. Emilio Aguinaldo; Epy Quizon bilang Apolinario Mabini; Arron Villaflor bilang Joven Hernando; Alvin Anson bilang Gen. Magkakaroon ng Gala Premiere Screening ang Goyo sa Agosto 30, Huwebes, sa SM Megamall at mapapanood naman ang pelikulang ito sa Setyembre 5 at mayroong special limited theatrical release sa ilang piling sinehan sa Agosto 29.
