4.3-M voters walang biometrics – Comelec

0622 FRONTNAGPASAKLOLO na ang Commission on Elections (Comelec) sa taong bayan upang mapaangat ang bilang ng mga sumailalim sa biometrics para makaboto sa darating na 2016 presidential elections.

Ayon sa Comelec, umaabot pa ng 4.3 million registered voters ang hindi pa naisailalim sa biometrics.

Binigyang-diin ni Comelec Chairman Andres Bautista, nanganganib na ma-disenfranchise ang botante kung hindi sumalang sa biometrics o ang pagkuha ng digital photograph, pirma at fingerprints para sa kanilang registration records.

Dahil dito inilunsad ng Comelec ang kanilang “No Bio, No Boto” campaign.

Nakikipag-ugnayan na rin ang Comelec sa mall operators upang maglagay ng satellite registration booths sa malls sa buong bansa.

“Help us spread the word about the ‘No Bio, No Boto’ campaign. By simply informing your neighbors about the need to validate, citizens can contribute a lot in preventing massive disenfranchisement in 2016,” ayon kay Bautista.
