UMAASA si national coach Jong Uichico na papayagan ng PBA ang mga rookie draftees na sina RR Garcia, Terrence Romeo at Raymond Almazan na maglaro para sa pambansang koponan na sasabak sa Southeast Asian Games sa Myanmar sa Disyembre.
Mag-uusap ang PBA at ang Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas tungkol dito pagkatapos ng PBA Rookie Draft sa Nobyembre 3 kung saan nagpalista sina Garcia, Romeo at Almazan.
Kung papayagan silang maglaro sa SEA Games, hindi sila puwedeng maglaro sa PBA sa loob ng dalawang buwan.
“Everything will depend on their mother teams once they all get drafted,” wika ni Uichico.
“Should they be allowed, that means they will not play in the PBA kasi iba yung ipahiram sa iyo at iba rin yung di na muna sila lalaro sa PBA so they can practice with us. But the SBP will make the necessary negotiations for that.”
Nagsimula nang mag-ensayo ang RP team ni Uichico noong Biyernes ng gabi.
Dumalo sa unang ensayo ni Uichico sina Kiefer Ravena, Kevin Alas, Garvo Lanete, Matt Ganuelas, Jake Pascual, Ronald Pascual at Almazan.
Umaasa din si Uichico na makakasama rin sa lineup ng RP team sa SEA Games si Arnold Van Opstal ng La Salle.
