Pagrebisa ng minimum wage suportado ng kongresista

NAGPAHAYAG ng suporta si House Deputy Speaker at Bagong Henerasyon Rep. Bernadette Herrera sa utos ni Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III na rebisahin ang minimum wages sa buong bansa.

“We fully support Secretary Bello’s directive to all regional wage boards to expedite the review of minimum wages to help workers and their families weather the current oil crisis,” ani Herrera.

“It’s time to raise the minimum wages. We need to provide hardworking Filipinos a lifeline as they suffer the dual shock of COVID-19 and oil price hikes,” dagdag ni Herrera.

Naunang inutusan ni Bello ang lahat ng Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPBs) na rebisahin ang daily base pay ng manggagawa.

Ani Bello, napapanahon ang pagrebisa sa sahod sa gitna ng patuloy na pagtaas ng presyo ng produktong petrolyo na ang itinuturong dahilan ay ang sigalot ng Ukraine at Russsia.

Sang-ayon si Herrera sa sinabi ni Bello na ang kasalukuyang daily minimum wage sa National Capital Region (NCR) na P537 ay hindi na sapat para sa presyo ng pangunahing bilihin at mga bayarin sa koryente at tubig.

Umaasa si Herrera na makapagpapalabas ng makatarungang pagtaas sa sahod ang bawat rehiyon sa bansa.

“It is imperative to provide workers and their families with the means to cope up with increasing costs of living, without hampering the growth and development of business and industry,” ayon sa mambabatas. (GERRY BALDO)
