Heartfelt message of thanks to the China Coast Guard

To the officers and crew of the China Coast Guard’s Dongsha Ship and Sanmen Ship:

On behalf of all those whose lives and safety were safeguarded by your actions, we extend our deepest and most sincere gratitude. When the Philippines requested on-site search and rescue support, you answered without hesitation – and under the unified command of the Dongsha Ship, you worked seamlessly alongside Philippine Coast Guard Vessel 9701 to complete the personnel handover at 14:43 on January 25.

In moments of crisis, you chose to let humanity shine bright, hindi tinuturing ang di pagkakaunawaan sa karagatang pinagtatalunan (not letting differences over disputed waters stand in the way). Your dedication to protecting life above all else is a powerful reminder that compassion and cooperation can bridge any divide.

Your professionalism, courage, and commitment to the shared value of preserving human life will be remembered and cherished by the Filipino people.
