ISANG music icon ang Pop Diva na si Miss Kuh Ledesma, tinitingala at respetadong artist.
At sa tanong kung sino sa mga mga new breed of singers natin ngayon ang nais ni Kuh na maka-collaborate, “Our local singers? I’d like to do something with KZ Tandingan. Because when I was starting and even now, you know, well I see that she likes to put drama in her performance and she’s quite unique, very talented.
“I’d like to see what we can do together.”
Sa tanong naman kung sino para kay Kuh ang maituturing niyang pinakamahusay na mang-aawit, “As a singer, and even if you ask those who really understand what singing is all about and placement, also vocal tone, kailangan ‘yung tone kasi tama, I would really choose Whitney Houston.
“She’s really… I don’t know if anybody will really, you know, come and a new singer would become really be… can surpass, kasi natural ‘yung kanya, eh.
“And I believe it’s because as a young girl she was already singing in church, so talagang na-hone ‘yung talent niya.
“Of course, there’s Barbra Streisand, because of her… you know, kay Barbra naman of course her tone is different, it’s very unique, at the same time, you know when she belts, she’s not shouting, but it is what the dynamics that is necessary for the song.
“So, actually a good singer does not necessarily belt in a way na masakit sa tenga, ‘yung ganoon, dapat beautiful pa rin, and that’s Barbra Streisand for you.
“Even for Whitney Houston.
“I don’t choose the others because I’m not really into their songs, but you know, a few years back, I discovered a male singer who I love, and that’s Seal.
“Because of his arrangements, his songs, the content of his lyrics, so I love Seal (British musician, singer/songwriter) as well, because hindi mapanggap ‘yung kanyang way of singing , it’s really uniquely his, iyon.”
Magkakaroon ng concert si Kuh, ang Kuh Ledesma Sings her ABC sa August 3, 2024, Sabado, 7:30 p.m., sa ballroom ng Winford Resort and Casino Manila (sa likod ng SM San Lazaro, Maynila).
Special guests ni Kuh ang mga baguhang male singers na sina Nathan Randall at David Young. Sa direksyon ni Vergel Sto. Domingo, maaring tumawag sa Ticketnet Online (0927-2978027 at 0960- 88502889) para sa karagdagang detalye para sa tickets.
May pasabog ba si Kuh sa kanyang nalalapit na concert?
“Mayroon! Pero hindi ‘yung anything na parang may nagawa akong imoral na alam mo ‘yun. Ha! Ha! Ha!
“Mayroon kasi akong pasabog noon when I got pregnant, talagang nagpa-concert ako at sinabi ko na I’m pregnant. “Ha! Ha! Ha!”
“Siyempre na-front page yata ako noon.”
At dito sa kanyang concert, “Well, hindi naman pasabog, but I’m bringing someone who is a surprise guest.”
