NM Cu kampeon  sa national age-group chess tourney

UMANGAT sa laban si  National Master Ivan Travis Cu ng San Juan City sa  katatapos na Open 14-under division ng 2022 National Age Group Chess Championship Semifinals virtually na ginanap sa Tornelo Platform nung Linggo.

Si Cu, 13,  incoming Grade 8 pupil ng Xavier School ay tumapos ng walang talo  sa  pitong laro  na may total output na 6.5 points mula sa  6 wins at 1 draw para makopo ang korona sa 2-day event (Mayo 28 at 29, 2022) na ipinatupad ang 15 minutes + 10 seconds increment time control format.

Kabilang sa mga tinalo ni Cu ay sina Jian Carlo Rivera sa second round, Nathan Jon Anarna sa third round, Jaymiel Piel sa fourth round, Gladimir Chester Romero sa fifth round, National Master Gian Christian Karlo Arca sa sixth round at Tyrhhone James Tabernilla sa seventh at final round.

Tabla siya kay Gabriel Ryan Paradero sa first round.
