Community pantry sa Cagayan de Oro nagsara (Organizer na-red tag)

PANSAMANTALANG itinigil ang operasyon ng isang community pantry sa lungsod ng Cagayan de Oro, lalawigan ng Misamis Orienral, nitong Miyerko­les, 21 Abril, matapos maakusahan ang organizer na may kaug­nayan sa mga komunis­tang grupo.

Inianunsiyo sa Facebook ng Kauswagan Community Pantry, na matatagpuan sa Pasil-Bonbon Road, na pansamantalang isasara ito matapos ang dalawang araw na pagsisilbi sa mga nagugutom na mga residente.

“Unfortunately, due to some red-tagging and harassment incidents, we are closing our pantry indefinitely. The remaining funds will be reallocated to other Community Pantry initiatives,” nakasaad sa Facebook post.

Samantala, nanawa­gan ang UP College of Science sa pamunuan ng paman­tasan na suporta­han ang faculty member nitong si Rene Principe, na nagsimula ng community pantry sa Cagayan de Oro.

“Red-tagging is malicious, extremely dangerous, and runs counter to the spirit of bayanihan, which the community pantry exemplifies… We call on the UP administration to extend their support to Rene and protect University constituents amidst the challenges of the pandemic. We call on all peace-loving Filipinos to reject these baseless accusations and continue to give what they can in order to help those who are in need,” bahagi ng pahayag ng kolehiyo sa kanilang Facebook page.

Gaya ng iba, inspira­syon ng Kauswagan Community Pantry ang kauna-unahang mutual aid initiative sa Maginha­wa St., Brgy. UP Village, sa lungsod Quezon, na tumigil din ng operasyon noong Martes, 20 Abril, dahil sa red-tagging ng pulisya sa organizer nitong si Anna Patricia Non.
