Sabi ni Maribel, “Another socially distanced visit to my mom at her nursing home in California!
“It’s not getting better here We communicate on a partially opened screen door.
“She writes me “I love you Isabel..come inside “… But nursing homes are red alert for the rise in Covid cases!! She did enjoy her dried fish, sinangag and egg
“Vashti, RN, my nurse, just informed me that my “Chinesevirus” aka COVID-19 test came back negative. I am very fortunate to be in this senior facility whose meticulous detail in safeguarding the health of its staff and residents are exemplary!
“We residents, as well as all our doctors, nurses, CNAs and staff, are tested every two weeks. I am thankful to my two daughters, “Eve” Maria Isabel Lopez and “Marites” Cresing Reyes, for visiting me and observing social distancing, wearing N95 masks and Eve wearing PPE.
“Thank you for the Filipino food, fresh Durian, the beautiful cards and letters from all of you. To my son, “Boy” Rolly Lopez, enjoy your retirement there in the Philippines. Send my love to my daughter-in-law, Mari Chou, and to my grandchildren, Wim and Zafina. I miss you all and I hope that this Pandemic will be over soon. Please stay healthy and safe, all of you, my dear children, your spouses, and grandchildren, from Mommy.”
