PALIBHASA maganda ang naging record bilang undersecretary sa Department of Agriculture (DA) ay mabilis o agad-agad.
Sa loob lamang ng sampung minuto, agad na inilabas ang appointment kay Berna Romulo Puyat bilang bagong Secretary ng Department of Tourism (DOT). Pinalitan niya ang nasangkot sa eskandalo na si Wanda Corazon Tulfo-Teo. Nanumpa noong May 29 sa bicameral commission si Berna at sinamahan ng kanyang daddy na si former Senator Alberto Romulo at ngayon ay chairman ng Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP).
Sa Facebook post ni Ms. Mons Romulo (sister ni Sec. Berna) ikinuwento niya ang agarang appointment ng kapatid.
“Berna Romulo Puyat was confirmed in less than 7 minutes as the new Secretary of Department of Tourism. One of the fastest according the Senate. Lupe Romulo must be happy to have a Romulo back in the Cabinet. Well kung pagbabasehan ang kasipagan at katapatan sa trabaho ay super deserve ni Sec. Berna ang nasabing position dahil sa kanyang karanasan bilang economist, educator and government executive at para sa marami ay winner siya sa pakikisama.
“My advocacy on food, farmers and farming will play a major part in my full entry into tourism. We will pursue the roll out of RA 10816 or the Farm Tourism Development Act 2016 (bill sponsored by Hon. Secretary Cynthia A. Villar) that will ultimately preserve our farms, increase revenue streams to the countryside, create new markets, and increase arrivals.”
Kasama ‘yan sa mga ipinangako ni DOT Sec. Berna na malaki ang nagawa sa Deparment of Agriculture bilang undersecretary.
Samantala dahil maraming artistang kaibigan si Sec. Berna tulad nina Sharon Cuneta at Aga Muhlach ay nangako sila na susuportahan ang kanyang kampanya sa DOT, para mas marami pang turistang maengganyo na magpunta sa ating bansa at libre raw ang serbisyo n ito. Ngayon pa lang ay masasasabing big asset na sa ahensiya si Sec. Berna.
