NAGUSTUHAN ni Kris Aquino kung paano magtrabaho ang kanilang director sa I Love You, Hater na siGiselle Andres.
Napaka-professional at mahusay ani Kris ang bagong director dagdag pa ang kakaibang vision nito.
Maging sa dalawang bagets na kasama ni Kris, sina Julia Barretto at Joshua Garcia ay gulat siya sa pagka-seryoso sa trabaho.
“Nagulat ako kasi when I was that young, I did not take it a seriously like what Joshua and Julia are doing. Siguro in our time, it was less of a craft, it was treated as fun. You have to remember nanggaling kami sa era na in ang comedy. So noong age nila (JoshLia), ‘Pido-Dida’ ang ginagawa ko. Parang you’re having fun lang,”pagkukuwento ni Kris.
Dagdag ni Kris, sobrang focus ng dalawa sa trabaho na sa tuwing natatapos ang isang eksena ay agad pinanonood ang monitor para makita kung okey ba ang ginawa nila o hindi. At kapag hindi nagustuhan, inire-request nina Julia at Joshua sa direktor na ulitin ang eksena dahil nakukulangan sila.
“Kasi lumaki ako na you don’t check the monitor because you trust your director. ‘Pag sinabi ng direktor na, it’s good, it’s good. And also because through the years alam ko na the finished product is also dependent on the editor and the musical scoring, so parang ang feeling ko, unless sabihan ako ng director na, ‘give me more, do this,’ then hindi na ako titingin, nakaupo na ako roon.’
“Pero sila talaga titingnan nila at magtatanong at hihingi pa (ng another takes). Feeling nila kinulang sila. Roon ako na-impress kaya sabi ko, they are really treating it the way it should be treated that it is a craft, that it’s something for the long term.
“And ‘yung sinabi ko day one all the way until now na I say it talaga na si Joshua has that something special. Alam mo ‘yung kung lalaki ka o babae ka gugustuhin mo siya because ‘yung pagka-cute niya is non-threatening. Kasi ‘di ba ‘pag sobrang kaguwapuhan, sobrang Tisoy parang kung lalaki ka, mai-alienate ka pero siya (Josh), magaling talaga.
“’Tapos si Julia naman, I think everything that she has been through in the past four years siguro molded her into what she is now kasi may depth and I say that na kitang-kita mo talaga na, sabi nila kapag magaling kang artista kailangan nagsasalita ‘yung mata.
“Kay Joshua, nagtwi-twinkle because he has a karisma. Kay Julia, you see the pain. So ang ganda na niya, this is a light movie but then it hits certain truths.
“Ang take away ko from this so far is that ‘yung pagka-explain sa amin as we shoot, naiintindihan ko lalo na lahat tayo mayroon tayong mga truth na pinagtatakpan and sometimes for it to remain true, it has to remain hidden.”
Sambit pa ng Queen of Online World and Social Media, ”’Di ba lahat tayo, we all have truths that we hide? But for it to be able to remain true, it’s kept with it.
“And you think it’s light (movie), it is, and there’s a rom-com element in this, there’s a Kris element in this and the moment that I don’t expect to be funny.
“My second take away in the movie, if you have a why in your life, then you’re always find the how. If you have a reason, then magagawan mo ng paraan. So for all three of us malalaman ninyo kung ano ‘yun kasi lahat sila may dahilan at may ipinaglalaban.”
