Brillantes hoyo sa PCOS

GUSTONG ipakulong ng isang anti-corruption group sa Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET) si Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman Sixto Brillantes at iba pang poll body officials dahil sa kuwestiyonableng paglipat ng libo-libong precinct count optical scan (PCOS) machines nang walang pahintulot ng hukuman.

Isinampa ang petisyon nina Alicia Lazaga, Joel Abalos, Jonas Sinel na pawang residente ng Sta. Rosa City, at Ricardo Bautista ng San Juan, sa Korte Suprema.

Sa 11-page petition, hiniling nila sa PET na ikulong sina Brillantes, Commissioners Lucenito N. Tagle, Elias R. Yusoph, Cristian Robert Lim, Ma. Gracia Cielo M. Padaca, at Al A. Pareno, dahil sa contempt of court.

Anila, binalewala ng Comelec officials ang PET Resolution noong Agosto 31, 2010 na nag-uutos sa Comelec na pangalagaan at panatilihin ang lahat ng election paraphernalia na ginamit noong 2010 elections para sa posisyong Vice President, pati na ang data storage devices na naglalaman ng electronic data na nagsisilbing ebidensiya para sa resulta ng halalan sa 76,340 clustered precincts, kaugnay sa Roxas vs. Binay protest.

“It’s timely to jail Brillantes, et al, as a penalty on contemptuous acts done to PET for brazenly violating the tribunal’s precautionary protection order. If Senators are jailed for corruption, then so be it for Comelec officials, that is so urgently necessary,” sabi ni Movement Against Graft and Abuse of Power (MAGAP) spokesman Sinel.

Inamin mismo ni Comelec spokesman James Jimenez na inilipat nila sa ibang warehouse ang PCOS machines mula sa Cabuyao warehouse kahit walang permit mula sa PET.
