Plunder vs GMA, Dato ibinasura ng Ombudsman

IBINASURA ng Office of the Ombudsman ang plunder case na inihain laban kay dating Pangulo at ngayo’y Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo at kanyang anak na si Rep. Ignacio “Dato” Arroyo, kaugnay sa hindi natuloy na infrastructure projects sa Camarines Sur.

“The evidence gathered does not warrant the initiation of criminal proceedings against the former president and her son,” ayon sa Ombudsman kahapon.

Ang 28-page report kaugnay sa imbestigasyon ay inaprubahan ni Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales noong Abril 22. Ayon sa report: “There is no evidence to show that former President Arroyo and her son directly and actively participated in the planning or implementation of the projects.”

Nakasaad sa report na ang pondo para sa Libmanan-Cabusao Dam (P700 million) at Skybridge 1 and 2 (P1.164 billion) projects ay hindi mula sa President’s Social Fund o sa Priority Development Allocation Fund, o pork barrel ni Rep. Dato Arroyo.

Ipinunto rin sa report na ang mga proyekto ay pinondohan sa ilalim ng regular budget ng National Irrigation Administration (NIA) at Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
