P3.2-B cash bond katapat ng apela ni Pacman sa CTA

PINABORAN ng Court of Tax Appeals (CTA) ang inihaing mosyon ni WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao na nagpapatigil sa Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) sa pag-freeze ng kanyang mga ari-arian.

Sa inilabas na resolusyon ng CTA, inatasan ang BIR na huwag munang ipatupad ang Final Decision of Disputed Assessment (FDDA) at pagkolekta sa tax deficiencies ni Pacquiao mula taon 2008 at 2009.

“Accordingly, respondent is hereby ordered to cease and desist from enforcing the subject Final Decision of Disputed Assessment (FDDA) and from collecting the subject deficiency tax assessments issued against petitioners for taxable years 2008 and 2009,” bahagi ng resolusyon ng CTA.

Ngunit sa kabila nito, ipinag-utos ng CTA kay Pacman na magbayad ng cash bond na nagkakahalaga ng buwis na sinisingil ng BIR.

May hinahabol ang BIR na P3.289 billion na pagkakautang sa buwis ng Filipino boxing icon.

Kailangan i-deposito ni Pacquiao ang cash bond sa loob ng 10 araw makaraan matanggap ang resolusyon ng korte.

“The suspension of collection shall be subject to petitioner’s depositing of a cash bond in the amount of P 3,298,514, 894.35 or posting of a GSIS bond or a bond from other reputable surety company duly accredited by the Supreme Court, in the amount equivalent to one and one half (1 ½) of the amount being collected or P4,947,772,341.53.”
