ANO ba ang PICA? Well, it’s Philippines International Cosmetologists Association which was founded by nationally known Fanny Serrano, the country’s top beauty expert. Si TF na ang Chairman ng PICA, while the national President is Edwin Samot, salon superstar form Cavite. I salute PICA because of their genuine intention.
PICA will be having it’s 2nd National Hair and Make-up Open Competition for this year na gaganapin sa September 23, 2013, 9am to 7 pm at the World Trade Center, Pasay City. Kaya naanyayahan nina Serrano, Samot, Manuel at buong puwersa ng PICA ang lahat ng ating beauty industry competitors, hairstylists, barbers and cosmetology students na gustong lumahok sa competition with four categories: 1. Men’s cut, color & style, 2.Ladies’ cut, color & style, 3. Star Ball Look (Red Carpet hair & make-up), and 4. Extreme Make Over (their newest category).
It’s truly an exciting event. I have attended several PICA competition nationwide (Zamboanga, Cebu, Iloilo, Bacolod and other places) and it was a whole day of bakbakan sa pahusayan sa make-up and hair style. Talagang pinaghahandaan ng mga kalahok ang competition bringing with them their models and costumes. Each category will have three major winners na tatanggap ng cash prizes and trophies. Each category Champion will receive P25,000.00 and a trophy.
This coming Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, 1 pm ang competitors briefing na gaganapin sa Room A & B ng Philippine Trade &Training Center (Philtrade), Pasay Road na nasa tabi lang ng World Trade. Mabuhay ang lahat ng mga hairdresser, hairstylists, make-up artists, barbers and beauticians sa bansa.
I’m fortunate dahil isa ako sa mga naging friends ni TF, wayback in the ‘70’s pa. Nakita ko ang paglaki ng kanyang pangalan not only in showbiz industry kundi maging sa beauty world. Excellent ang contribution niya sa fashion and beauty world.
TF is truly guided by the Lord Jesus Christ. And I know God is healing me now.
I hope to see TF and the PICA group on Sept. 23 sa World Trade Center because I considered this group as a family already. Again, mabuhay si TF! Mabuhay si Edwin Samot! Mabuhay ang lahat ng mga beauticians! Mabuhay ang PICA!
