Press Con ni Duterte iboykot — RSF (Local media hinikayat)

NANAWAGAN ang Reporters Without Boarders (RSF), international media welfare and press freedom advocate, sa mediamen na i-boycott  ang mga press conference ni incoming President Rodrigo Duterte hangga’t hindi humihingi ng public apology sa naging pahayag hinggil sa media killings.

“Not only are these statements unworthy of a president but they could also be regarded as violations of the law on defamation or even the law on inciting hatred and violence,” ayon  kay  Benjamin Ismaïl ng RSF Asia-Pacific desk.

Hiniling ng RSF sa mediamen na magsampa ng legal action laban kay incoming President Duterte dahil sa sinabing corrupt at biased ang mediamen kaya pinapatay.

 ”Duterte should nonetheless be pleased by the existence of these laws because without them he would also be exposed to violent repercussions, according to his own words. We urge organizations that represent the media to not overlook comments of this kind and to bring lawsuits. We also urge the media to boycott the Duterte administration’s news conferences until the media community gets a public apology,” dagdag ng international media welfare and press freedom advocate.

Magugunitang sinabi ni Duterte, karamihan daw sa mediamen na pinapatay ay corrupt at biased.

“Just because you are a journalist, you are not exempted from assassination if you are a son of a bitch. Freedom of expression won’t save you. The Constitution cannot help you kapag binaboy mo ang isang tao,” sabi ni Duterte sa kanyang press conference sa Malacañang in the South sa Davao City.
