Arjo FAMAS award ibinahagi sa mga sundalong Pinoy; Nathan Studios Down Syndrome movie isusunod

ITINANGHAL na Best Actor si Arjo Atayde ka-tie si Vice Ganda sa katatapos na 73rd FAMAS Awards. Kinilala ang galing ng aktor/politiko para sa pelikulang Topakk na ipinrodyus ng Nathan Studios samantalang sa And The Breadwinner Is… naman ang Phenomenal Box Office Star. Kapwa entry sa Metro Manila Film Festival 2024 ang dalawang pelikula. 

Bukod sa Best Actor, nakuha rin ng Topakk ang FAMAS 2025 Best Sound award.  

Isang ex-military officer ang role ni Arjo na naging security guard na nagkaroon ng post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) matapos mapaslang ang kaibigang sundalo sa pelikulang Topakk kaya naman inialay niya ang natanggap na tagumpay sa mga sundalong Pinoy. 

Sa acceptance speech ni Arjo, pinasalamatan niya ang kanilang direktor na si Richard Somes gayundin ang lahat ng mga nakapanood sa kanilang pelikula na talaga namang ipinagmamalaki ng Nathan Studios.  

“To all our soldiers that gave us inspiration to create the story, hindi lahat ng may topak, may topak naman. We are all leading in our own ways, most of the time it is misunderstood,” ani Arjo.

“To anyone and to everyone who is experiencing mental health issues, know that you are loved and you are never alone.

“We do not work for this, but we work to tell a good story, and this is what happened.” 

Pinasalamatan din ni Arjo ang kanyang mga magulang na sina Sylvia Sanchez at Art Atayde, gaundin ang kanyang misis na si Maine Mendoza.

“And just a short message, this award will serve as another source of inspiration for me to do better every time I face a new chapter. And may everyone in this pavilion continue to be soldiers of the industry. Let us continue support Filipino movies,” wika  pa ng 1st District QC Representative.

Bago pa man nakatanggap ng pagkilala sa Pilipinas ang Topakk nakatanggap na ito ng parangal at pagkilala sa 78th Cannes at 76th Locarno Film Festivals noong 2024.

Kinilala rin ang husay ng pelikula sa mga film festival sa Austin, Texas, at Catalonia Spain noong 2023.  

At noong Disyembre nasungkit ng Topakk sa 2024 50th Metro Manila Film Festival’s ang Jury Award, Fernando Poe Memorial Award for Excellence, at Best Float Award. 

Samantala, proud at masayang ibinalita ni Sylvia ang susunod nilang pelikula na tatalakay naman sa buhay ng mga batang may Down syndrome. 

Ani Sylvia, tapos na ang shoot ng pelikula na tiyak siyang pupukaw sa mga damdamin ng mga manonood.

“We are very thankful to FAMAS for recognizing Cong. Arjo as best actor. It gives the Nathan Studios the energy to create more quality original films, and next month we will be having an announcement soon,” anang premyadong aktres.

“After Topakk that will also be shown in Netflix soon, we will be releasing a new movie later this year, a movie for all ages and masses this time. It is going to be for the entire family,” she added. “Everybody will be excited for sure,” sabi pa.
