‘Impeach VP Sara’ inihain sa Kamara

HABANG patuloy ang imbestigasyon ng Kamara de Representantes sa sinabing ilegal na paglustay ng budget ng Office of the Vice President (OVP) at ng Department of Education (DepEd), isang grupo ng civil society, mga dating opisyal ng gobyerno, at mga relihiyoso ang naghain ng impeachment complaint sa Kamara.

Ang sakdal ay bunsod ng “culpable violations of the Constitution, graft and corruption, bribery, betrayal of public trust, and other high crimes.”

Ang mga naghabla ay sina Teresita Quintos Deles, Fr. Flaviano Villanueva, SVD; Fr. Robert Reyes, Randy Delos Santos (tiyuhin ng biktima ng Tokhang na si Kian Delos Santos), Francis Aquino Dee, Leah Navarro, Sylvia Estrada Claudio, Alicia Murphy, Sr. Mary Grace De Guzman, SFIC; at ang dating Magdalo Rep. Gary Alejano. Kasama nila si dating Senador Leila De Lima, na tumatayong tagapagsalita ng grupo.

“The Vice President has reduced public office to a platform for violent rhetoric, personal enrichment, elitist entitlement and a shield for impunity. Her actions desecrate our institutions, and her continued grip on power insults every Filipino who stands for good governance and the rule of law,” ani Deles.

Ang habla  ay inendoso ni Akbayan Partylist lawmaker Perci Cendaña. 

“Akbayan joins this fight. We cannot allow public office to be weaponized for corruption, violence, and betrayal of trust. The Filipino people deserve leaders who serve with integrity, not rulers who exploit power for personal gain,” ayon kay Cendaña.

Sa panig ni De Lima, “Public office is not a throne of privilege, it is a position of trust. Sara Duterte has desecrated that trust with her blatant abuses of power. This impeachment is not just a legal battle but a moral crusade to restore dignity and decency to public service.”

Nakadetalye sa asunto na ang bise presidente ay lumabag sa Saligang Batas, at lumabag sa kanyang sinumpaan.

Sa paglabag sa Saligang Batas, ang bise presidente ay nabigong ipaliwanag ang P125-milyong confidential funds na ibjnigay sa OVP noong 2022.

Hindi rin, umano, maipaliwanag ni Sara Duterte ang P650 milyong karagdagang confidential at intelligence fund para sa OVP at sa DepEd. 

Lumabag din ang bise presidente sa Saligang Batas dahil sa hindi pagsipot sa mga pagdinig ng Kamara de Representantes. 

Inakusahan si Sara sa maling paggamit ng P2.735 bilyong confidential funds noong siya ay alkalde pa ng Davao. Inabandona umano ni Sara Duterte ang kanyang tungkulin nang bumiyahe siya sa Germany nang dumating ang bagyong Carina.

Ang kabuuan ng reklamo ay umabot sa 24 Articles of Impeachment. Nanawagan ang mga naghain ng impeachment sa Kamara para sa agarang aksiyon sa complaint.

“Our complaint is a clarion call to dismantle the culture of violence, corruption, and impunity which were the hallmark of the Vice President. Today, we rise for those who can no longer speak for themselves, demanding that Congress take decisive action to uphold truth, justice, and accountability,” ayon kay Fr. Flaviano Villanueva.
