SM Foundation has acquired another mobile clinic to boost its medical and dental missions and assistance to its Operation: Tulong Express response program during calamities.
The new mobile clinic brings the number of mobile clinics at the disposal of SM Foundation for its corporate social responsibility programs to six (6).
The new mobile clinic has added features like the canopy mechanism. It is equipped with a more durable canopy that can be operated both automatically and manually. It is also longer and wider compared to existing mobile clinics to comply with the new rules of the DOH – Food and Drug Administration.
The ECG room includes an oxygen tank for emergencies and more storage as drawers are installed under the ECG bed.
Meanwhile, the X-ray room is divided into three sections: the RadTech working station, the X-ray exposure area, and the dressing area.
The RadTech working station is equipped with a laptop, printer, and X-ray machine control. It has a new feature in the PA system that gives instructions to the patient and protects the Rad Tech from radiation. It follows the new FDA requirement of a thicker lead-protected room. Another new feature is the dressing area to ensure patient privacy. SM Mobile clinics are stationed in Cebu for use in the Visayas regions (Iloilo, Bacolod, Leyte), in Cagayan de Oro for Mindanao missions plus one permanently stationed in Palawan while 2 are stationed in Metro Manila for use in the National Capital Region. The newest mobile clinic will also be based in Manila which is expected to move around the whole of Luzon.
