Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, Sogo Cares has donated thousands of assorted school supplies, vitamins, cleaning materials, gardening tools, and hygiene kits aiding over 20,000 students nationwide.
“It is truly inspiring to see volunteers and parents take initiative in preparation for the students getting back in face-to-face classes this school year. You can clearly see the community working together and the spirit of Bayanihan is alive like never before. We at Sogo Cares yearly help NGOs, schools, and communities dearly in need of assistance”, shared by Ms. Sue Geminiano, Hotel Sogo Marketing Manager.
“We believe that children should have access to basic needs especially basic tools that would help in their education like pencils, paper, ball pens, crayons, and other learning materials that would significantly increase their interest in their studies”, Ms. Sue Geminiano added.
Sogo Cares Balik-Eskwela program is one of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs designed to encourage and give hope to students in their learning through donations of school supplies, learning materials, and other supplies important in education to different communities, barangays, and schools nationwide.
The Department of Education (DepEd) officially kicked off the nationwide Brigada Eskwela 2022 with the theme Tugon sa Hamon ng Ligtas na Balik-Aral to promote collaboration and resiliency in basic education to ensure the readiness of schools for the opening of school year. Collective efforts from the government, volunteers, and different organizations are needed to ensure a safe, clean, and quality education.
