UNFORGETTABLE ang performance ni Aiko Melendez as a villainess at the soap Prima Donnas (2019-2021) of GMA Network and Wildflower (2017-2018) of ABS-CBN.
But as an actress, she revealed that she has had her own share of baptism of fire.
Sa isang virtual presscon, tinanong si Aiko sa kanyang unforgettable encounters with the senior stars.
Aiko vividly remembers her encounter with the Diamond Star, Maricel Soriano, in the movie Santa Claus Is Coming To Town wayback in the year 1984.
She delineated the role of Maricel and William Martinez’s daughter.
When it was her turn to say her lines, hindi raw niya magawa.
“Bata pa lang ako, six years old pa lang ako.
“Hindi naman niya ako sinindak.
“Parang, ‘Hoy! Bakit nakatulala ka riyan?’ Alam n’yo si Nay Mary.”
Basing from Aiko’s narrative, Maricel was frank but devoid of pagtataray at pagkainis.
“So, that’s one thing I learned from Ms. Maricel, which up today ay pina-practice ko pa rin.”
According to her, they were given the chance to work together in the movie Filipinas in the year 2003.
It was a family drama that featured Maricel, Aiko, Richard Gomez, Dawn Zulueta, Victor Neri, and the late Armida Siguion-Reyna.
Aiko intimated: “When we did Filipinas, all-star cast ‘yun, so siyempre lahat ng mga kasama ko do’n sobrang beterano, tapos director pa namin si Joel Lamangan.
“So, dapat talaga lagi kang ready.
