BILANG bahagi ng Globe Telecom’s employee volunteerism program, ang Corporate and Legal Services Group ng kompanya ay nagkaloob ng mga muwebles at iba pang mga kasangkapan sa Special Education (SPED) classroom ng EM’s Signal Village Elementary School (ESVES) sa Taguig City, gayondin ay nagsagawa ng teacher training workshop sa cyber wellness.
“We wanted to extend our assistance outside the walls of our office and serve our immediate local community which is Taguig. When we visited ESVES, we realized that while the school is well-supported by the local government, it can use a bit more help on SPED,” pahayag ni Froilan Castelo, Globe General Counsel.
Dagdag niya: “We also wanted to conduct the digital citizenship talks because we felt responsible for disseminating very useful information to the teaches who are already within our reach. Being considered as leaders in the school, the teachers have to be in tune with digital trends and lifestyles so that they can teach their students more effectively.”
Kinabibilangan ng mahigit 50 legal practitioners, pinasinayaan ng team ang fully-furnished SPED classroom katulad ng bagong mga silya, mesa, SPED-friendly books, toys, air conditioning unit, television units at iba pang SPED-dedicated learning materials.
Ang ESVES ay paaralan ng 40 SPED students at mahigit 7,000 regular students.

Gayondin, mahigit 30 grade school teachers ang lumahok sa dalawang workshop na pinangunahan ng guest speakers na sina Atty. Jorge Franco Sarmiento sa Data Privacy Act, at Kiten Dimayuga sa Digital Thumbprint Program (DTP). Ang DTP ay Globe Telecom’s flagship cyber-wellness education training para sa mga guro at mga estudyante. Ito ay idinesenyo para mapataas ang kaalaman ng mga estudyante sa digital citizenship at cyber safety sa pamamagitan ng pagsusuri sa kanilang
online behavior at pagtulong sa kanilang mag-develop ng mga pananaw hinggil sa impluwensiya ng online world at sa bubuuin nilang mga desisyon.
Ang CLSG ay nagkakaloob ng libreng legal consultation services, tumutulong sa mga ahensiya ng gobyerno at nagsasagawa ng plenary discussion sa Globe employees sa nakaraang tatlong taon sa ilalim ng kanilang AttyATBP volunteering program. Sa nakaraang mga taon, ang Globe ay tuloy-tuloy na hinihikayat ang kanilang mga empleyado na ipatupad ang “culture of giving” sa pamamagitan ng pagtulong sa mga empleyado at departments sa outreach opportunities, funding support, at binabayaran ang kanilang “leaves” para sa volunteering-related engagements.
