Apela ng MIASCOR ibinasura ng Palasyo

WALA nang dapat iapela ang MIASCOR Groundbreaking Corporation dahil paso na ang kontrata nito sa Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA).

Ayon kay Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque, malinaw ang direktiba ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa MIAA kaya hindi na ini-renew ang kontrata dahil sa maraming kaso ng pagkawala ng mga bagahe sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) at Clark International Airport.

Inihalimbawa ni Roque ang pagkawala ng bagahe ng misis ng Turkish diplomat at pagka­kasangkot ng MIASCOR supervisor sa illegal drugs.

“We have to look at the bigger picture. Our national interest is of paramount importance. In particular, we need to protect airport travelers from baggage theft, especially overseas Filipino workers who work so hard to earn [a] living, and to make sure that potential tourists and investors are not turned off by such incidents at the airport,” dagdag ni Roque.

Tiniyak ni Roque na puwedeng i-absorb sa kompanyang papalit ang mga empleyado ng MIASCOR.

Giit ni Roque, hindi maaapektohan ang serbisyo sa dalawang paliparan sa pag-alis ng MIASCOR.
