HINDI ko alam kung bakit nanahimik ang ilan sa challenger ni incumbent mayor Tony Calixto sa Pasay City.
Maging ang ilan sa mapagmasid sa politika sa Pasay ay nagtataka kung bakit tameme ang kampo ng United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) na dati’y maiingay. Nakapagtataka???
Ang kuwento nga ng isa sa kumakandidatong konsehal sa district 2 sa Pasay, na pailalim-palihim na sumusuporta kay Mayor Calixto; “Si yorme pa rin daw ang dala niya sa 2016 election.”
Kaya, kalmanteng-kalmante lang sa lungsod ng Pasay ang anak ni Mang Duay na si Tony Calixto at ang utol niyang si Congresswoman Emi Calixto-Rubiano.
Ang nakalulungkot, mukhang napag-iiwanan na sa kuwentohan ang dating konsehal at dating congressman sa Pasay na si Dr. Lito Roxas.
Malaki kasing dagok sa political career ni Dok Roxas ang nangyari sa kanya bago matapos ang year 2015. Ito ay nang ilabas ng Sandiganbayan ang hatol o ang conviction order laban sa kanya at kay dating Pasay City Mayor Atty. Pewee Trinidad na may kaugnayan sa umano’y maanomalyang kontrata sa pagpapagawa noon sa bagong gusali ng Pasay City Public Market.
Sino ba naman ang hindi malulungkot at sasakit ang ulo kung malaman mong hinatulan ka ng 10 taong pagkakakulong sa kasong ang akala mo ay maililigtas ka ng iyong pinagkatiwalaang abogado.
Napakahirap malimutan kung bakit ipinagiba noon at muling ipinagawa ang Pasay City Public Market na nasa bahagi ng Taft Avenue at Libertad Street.
Topnotcher receives incentive from Munti LGU
MUNTILUPEÑA topnotch educator is set to receive P35,000 cash incentive from the local government of Muntinlupa for her exemplary performance in the September 2015 Licensure Examination for Teachers and for her academic achievement.
Mayor Jaime Fresnedi awarded a certificate of recognition to Andrea Dominique del Cano, LET Sept 2015 Top 10 passer, and announced the financial assistance during the city’s flag raising rites last January 11.
In an interview, Del Cano said she was surprised with the privileges that the City Government gives to locals attaining high rank status in board examinations and for its efforts in acknowledging locals’ achievements.
“Actually I did not expect for an LGU to have this kind of program. I am very thankful to Muntinlupa government for the recognition and believing in simple citizens like us can achieve great things,”del Cano added.
During her high school days, Del Cano is one of the best student in Pedro E. Diaz High School in Alabang where he graduated with honor.
She pursue her college at Philippine Normal University where she graduated cum laude with Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. She’s now teaching as an educator at South Mansfield College in Putatan, Muntinlupa.
The local government gives financial incentive to locals who will top notch board exams and graduates with latin honors. For board topnotchers: Rank 1 will receive P100,000 and Rank 2-10 will receive P25,000; while latin honor graduates will receive P20,000 for summa cum laude, P15,000 for magna cum laude, and P10,000 for cum laude.
On top of cash incentives for academic achievers, Mayor Fresnedi pioneered an expanded scholarship program which caters to students from pre-school to college, graduate studies, and technical-vocational track enrollees.
Fresnedi administration invests in educating the citizenry and extending recognition to outstanding scholars.
