CPP-NPA nagdeklara ng 12-araw ceasefire

NAGDEKLARA ng 12 araw na tigil-putukan ang National Democratic Front (NDF) para sa pagdiriwang ng Pasko.

Batay sa deklarasyon ng NDF sa kanilang website, mag-uumpisa ang anila’y pahinga sa labanan sa Disyembre 23, 2015 hanggang Enero 3, 2016.

Ayon sa CPP-NPA, ang unilateral ceasefire ay bilang tanda nang pagkakaisa ng bansa sa paggunita sa Pasko at Bagong Taon.

“This will also enable the revolutionary forces to carry out mass assemblies and public demonstrations to mark the 47th anniversary of the CPP and celebrate revolutionary victories of the past year. This ceasefire order is also being issued in support of efforts of peace advocates to foster the resumption of GPH-NDFP peace negotiations on the basis of The Hague Joint Declaration, the Joint Agreement on Safety and Immunity Guarantees and the Comprehensive Agreement on Respect for Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law,” base sa pahayag ng CPP sa kanilang website.

Samantala, hinihintay ang tugon ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) at Philippine National Police (PNP) kung magdedeklara rin ng ceasefire ngayong holiday season.

Nabatid na huminto ang gobyerno sa pakikipag-ugnayan sa communist party para sa usaping pangkapayapaan noong Abril 2013.
