Willie Revillame ipinaaaresto vs child abuse (Totoy tinuruan ng ‘macho dancing’)

PINAGTIBAY ng Court of Appeals (CA) ang desisyon ng Regional Trial Court (RTC) ng Quezon City na nag-uutos ng pagpapalabas ng warrant of arrest laban kay Willie Revillame.

Ito ay kaugnay sa child abuse case na kinakaharap ng TV host na nag-ugat sa March 12, 2011 episode ng defunct “Willing Willie.”

Sa kontrobersiyal na episode na ipinalabas sa TV5, ang 6-anyos na kalahok sa isa sa mga segment ng show ay nakitang umiiyak habang tinuturuan ni Revillame na sumayaw na parang macho dancer.

Sa desisyon na isinulat ni Associate Justice Ma. Luisa Quijano-Padilla, sinabi ng CA, si QC RTC Branch 86 presiding Judge Roberto Buenaventura ay hindi umabuso sa kanyang awtoridad sa pagpapalabas ng warrant of arrest laban kay Revillame noong Oktubre 4, 2013

Sinabi ng CA, si Buenaventura ay nagpalabas lamang ng warrant of arrest makaraang personal na busisiin ang factuyal circumtances ng reklamo, kaya naniniwala siyang may probable cause para ipaaresto ang TV host bunsod ng pananagutan sa krimen.

Dagdag pa ng CA, sa determinasyon ng probable cause, ang “absolute certainty of evidence is not required.”

“As a final note, we observe that the resolution of this case had long been delayed because of the petitioner’s refusal to submit to the trial court’s jurisdiction and his erroneous invocation of the Rules in his favor,” saad sa desisyon ng CA.

“As there is probable cause for the petitioner’s commission of a crime, his arrest and arraignment should now ensue so that this case may properly proceed to trial, where the merits of both parties’ evidence and allegations may be weighed,” punto ng CA.
