11% itinaas ng BoC collections

NAGING doble ang revenue collections ng Bureau of Customs (BoC) para sa ikatlong buwan kasabay ng pagsasagawa ng mga pagbabago sa nasabing ahensiya.

Sa buwan ng Setyembre, tumaas ang revenue collection ng P25.841 bilyon, halos 11.3% ang itinaas kompara sa kaparehong buwan noong 2012.

Sa unang siyam na buwan ng 2013, nakakolekta ang BoC ng kabuuang P224.450 bilyon, mas mataas ng 5.1% kompara sa kaparehong buwan noong 2012.

Samantala, mas mababa naman ang koleksiyon ng BoC sa inaasahan ng inter-agency Development Budget Coordination Committee (DBCC); bumagsak ito ng 11.8% kulang ng P29.173 bilyon na target para sa buwan ng Setyembre, at mababa ng 10.3% para sa Enero hanggang Setyembre 2013.

Ang Manila International Container Port (MICP), Port of Manila at Batangas Port, nakakolekta ng P147.77 bilyon sa unang siyam na buwan ng 2013.

“Our growth momentum looks promising. From preliminary reports, we are poised to hit our internal revenue collection milestone of P300 billion in October. We will be within striking distance of the collection target set by the DBCC. Our personnel at the BoC continue to perform despite the organizational changes that have occurred in the past weeks. I am confident that we will catch-up in the last quarter of 2013, as seasonal import increases and operational efficiencies are implemented,” ani Customs Commissioner Rozzano Rufino Biazon.

Sa buwan ng Oktubre, inatasan ng DBCC na makakolekta ng P30.508 bilyon ang BoC at ng  P340 bilyon sa buong taon. (leonard basilio)
