GAGANAPIN ngayong October 27, 2023, 7pm sa Manila Grand Opera Hotel & Casino ang Philippine Distinct Men and Women of Excellence awards.

Ito ay pinamumunuan ni Dr. Romeo ‘Romm’ Burlat, na kilala rin bilang award winning director, actor, at movie producer.

Ipinaliwanag ni Dr. Burlat ang layunin ng parangal o pagkilalang ito.

Aniya, “This is the inaugural season of Philippine Distinct Men and Women of Excellence

“Isa itong distinction para sa mga successful Filipinos na distinct talaga o naiiba sa mga usual awardees. Sila ay tinatawag na creme of the crop or the ones who are above the rest. Mga awardees na nangingibabaw sa lahat. This special award is for all successfully distinctive Filipinos all over the world.” 

Ang ilan sa bibigyan ng parangal ng pagkilala rito tulad ng Lifetime Achievement award ay sina Boy Abunda, Senator Imee Marcos, Direk Brillante Mendoza, City of Ilagan mayor Josemarie Diaz, ang veteran actor na si Leo Martinez, ang kilalang entertainment journalist na si Crispina Belen, at ang National Artists of the Philippines for Film and Broadcast na si Ricky Lee. 

Bakit niya naisipang magbigay ng ganitong recognition?

“Para ma-recognize iyong very distinctive achievers ng Filipinos sa iba’t ibang lupalop ng mundo. Distinctive meaning unique, unusual in their fields of endeavor,” esplika ni Direk Romm 

Dagdag pa niya, “This will become an annual event, may mga kasama ako rito, but they want to remain incognito.”
