NAETSAPUWERA si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa binuong political dynasty cartel ng kanyang mga kaalyado para sa halalan sa 2022.
Ayon kay Aries Arugay, UP political science professor, hindi natutukan o napabayaan ni Pangulong Duterte ang koalisyon na kanyang pinamunuan noong 2016 kaya noong wala nang kumukumpas ay nagbuo ang kanyang mga kaalyado ng kartel upang pagtibayin ang kanilang political dynasty para sa 2022 elections pero hindi na kasama ang punong ehekutibo.
“We saw the alienation of the other members of the coalition which Duterte himself led back in 2015 and 2016. There was a change on who calls the shots. Unfortunately President Duterte found himself not calling the shots and this is why when I said a cartel is forming, unfortunately, President Duterte was left out in the cartelization,” ani Arugay sa After the Fact sa ANC kamakailan.
Ang tinutukoy na political dynasty cartel ay ang pagsasama ng mga Marcos, Arroyo, Duterte, at Estrada para suportahan ang tambalang Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr., sa pagkapangulo at Sara Duterte sa pagka-bise presidente.
Paliwanag ni Arugay, hindi kinagat ang orihinal na planong Duterte-Duterte tandem at patunay ito na bagama’t ‘permanent feature’ ang political dynasties sa bansa, may limitasyon sa mga abilidad nito para lahat ay makontrol kaya’t kailangan makipag-alyansa ang ibang dynasties sa isa’t isa para lalo tumatag.
“The plan originally was a Duterte-Duterte tandem, they were testing it but unfortunately there was no buy-in. Yes dynasties has been a permanent feature in Philippine politics but there are even limits to the abilities of dynasties to be able to control about everything. And this is where you need other dynasties to partner as alliances,” aniya.
Hindi aniya pumasa sa panlasa ng ibang dynasties ang postura ni Pangulong Duterte na siya ang magdidikta sa koalisyon bagkus mas ginusto nila ang magbuo ng kolektibong mekanismo upang mapalakas ang kanilang kapangyarihan at hindi aasa lamang sa kanyang desisyon.
“President Duterte was of a mode that even if we are to form these alliances of dynasties, I will still be at the top and will be calling the shots. Unfortunately, the other dynasties or the other members of his coalition that was formed in 2015, 2016 had other ideas and they believe that, why are you calling the shots now. Why can’t we call the shots? Why this can be more of collective mechanism for concentrating power and not just relying on you deciding on everything,?” ani Arugay.
Nauna rito’y nagbabala si Arugay na kapag naging matatag ang umusbong na political dynasty cartel, maaaring manatiling hawak nila ang kapangyarihan hanggang 2034 dahil titiyakin nilang magmumula sa kanilang hanay ang pinuno ng bansa.
“This emerging dynasty cartel is really a new development because we’re used with dynasties competing with one another, and not really promiscuously sharing power,” aniya sa Headstart.
“If this alliance becomes iron clad, then we could be talking of beyond 2022, 2028, 2034. That’s how cartels work. They limit the competition. They make sure winners of future electoral contests will be among them and this is quite another level of Philippine dynastic politics,” wika niya.
Nag- evolve na rin aniya ang political dynasties at ang mga anak ay may lakas ng loob na suwagin ang magulang gaya ng ginawa ni Sara kay Pangulong Duterte.
“She is not simply following orders from her father. This for me is an indication that there is some form of generational change in our dynastic politics and we will have to wait if they will be governed by the very short-sighted interest of ambition and greed or they will step up,” sabi ni Arugay.
Matatandaang tinabla ni Sara ang alok ng kanyang ama na kumandidatong presidente at gawing vice presidential bet si Senator Christopher “Bong” Go.
Sa kabila ng pagtutol ni Pangulong Duterte ay naging vice presidential bet si Sara ni Marcos habang si Go ay umatras bilang presidential candidate ng administrasyon.
