Karen on Korina — Hindi ako competitor ni Korina or the next Korina

“HINDI ako magiging Karen  Davila if not   for ABS (CBN), that’s a fact!” ito ang diretsong sabi ng kilalang broadcast journalist.

Dagdag pa, ”I have been in ABS for 21 years, so I really have to say with all my heart that the Karen Davila you’ve seen today is really a product of ABS-CBN. Lumaki po ako ng ganito dahil po sa tiwala ng ABS. So, ABS at it lowest point, I wanna be there for ABS-CBN.”

At dahil masasabing isa na rin sa poste ng news department si Karen Davila ay natanong ni Ogie Diaz ang matagal ng nasa isip ng publiko kung magkagalit sila ng dating TV Patrol anchor na si Korina Sanchez-Roxas.

Natawa muna si Karen sa tanong ni Ogie, ”Well, recently nagkita kami ni Korina at a party, kay Anton San Diego (editor in chief of Philippine Tatler) and he posted it (pictures) at ang daming natuwa roon. I think kasi it’s the first time to see Korina and I together.

“And I’d like to say it in the best way I could, Korina Sanchez was already an icon noong nagpunta po ako sa ABS (CBN). Lumipat ako sa ABS in 2001 and Korina Sanchez na po siya, sikat na sikat na po siya! In other words kailanman ay hindi po kami nagpantay, hindi po ako competitor ni Korina or the next Korina. The only person I can be is Karen, that’s all I can say.

“And I think the reason that all these things came out in the past is because people were pitting us against each other. There are period of times na nagbabatian kami but we didn’t have the opportunity to really spend time together.

“Nasayangan lang ako in ABS, I wish Korina and I met at different circumstances that I got to know her because people tell me, she’s such a good friend, a loyal friend to have.”

Oo nga sayang at wala ng chance na muling magkatrabaho sina Korina at Karen dahil nagretiro na ang una sa Kapamilya Network noong 2020 pagkalipas ng 33 years.
