Allowance sa volunteer doctors at nurses isinulong

IMINUNGKAHI ni Rep. Eric Go Yap ng ACT-CIS Party-list  na bigyan ng allowance ang volunteer doctors at nurses na nasa frontline ng laban sa COVID-19.

“We are more than willing to pay what is due for our volunteer doctors and nurses and we will look into this asap,” ani Yap.

“Gaya ng mga nasabi ko, itong COVID-19 crisis ay isang gera (kung saan) ang ating doctors at nurses ay nagtataya ng kanilang buhay at nagsasakripisyo upang labanan ang virus at gamutin ang ating mga pasyente,” paliwanag ni Yap.

Ayon sa chairman ng House Committee on Appropriations, isusulong niya ito upang agarang maipatupad.

Hahanapan, umano ito ng pondo sa “Bayanihan We Heal as One Act”at kung wala ay magpapasa ng supplemental budget para rito.

“We will exhaust all our options and we will offer this as a suggestion to the Executive to give our healthcare workers not only the proper compensation, but also the respect that they deserve. Those who are not licensed but are volunteering should be properly compensated as well, just a little lower than the prevailing rate, if not the same,” aniya.

Kaugnay nito, umaangal ang mga nurses sa ‘tagal’ ng mga shuttle buses na magsasakay sa kanila. Ang iba sa kanila sa ospital na lamang natutulog upang hindi na maabala.

Nanawagan si House majority leader Martin Romualdez at Tingog Party-list Rep. Yedda Romualdez kay Health Sec. Francisco Duque III na tulungan ang local government units (LGUs) na makapag-set-up ng kanilang screening centers for coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19).

“We call on the DOH to assist LGUs working on the establishment of their own testing centers to arrest the COVID-19 pandemic. The guidance and expertise of our health officials are needed to ensure that testing centers are compliant with the standards,” pahayag ng mga Romualdez.

“The country needs more testing centers in different regions because of the urgency to stem the COVID-19 threat,” anila.

“We are upbeat that the DOH will approve our proposed testing center in Eastern Visayas,” ayon sa mag-asawang Romualdez. (GERRY BALDO)
