Kawad ng koryente dapat sa ilalim ng lupa na — solon

MATAPOS ang kalunos-lunos na insidente kahapon sa Laguna na sumabit sa kawad ng koryente ang helicopter na sinasakyan ng hepe ng Philippine National Police, nanawagan muli si Bagong Henerasyon party-list Rep. Bernadette Herrera Dy na ipasa na ang panukalang ilagay sa ilalim ng lupa ang mga kawad ng koryente at iba pang kable na nakakabit sa poste.

Aniya, kung walang kawad ng koryente sa poste hindi nag-crash ‘yung helicopter na sinakyan ni Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Archie Gamboa at pito pang opisyal ng PNP.

Base sa mga ulat, ang helicopter ni Gamboa ay sumabit sa koryente ilang minuto pagkatapos mag-take-off sa San Pedro, Laguna.

“It is really high time for the country to relocate and place all cables underground. This incident has proven how unreasonably risky overhead wires are. I’m glad that our PNP chief and other officials are safe but we could not let this incident happen again. It is necessary for us to exhaust all means to ensure safety in all public spaces,” ayon kay Herrera.

Itinutulak ni Herrera ang House Bill 5845 na nag-uutos sa mga kompanya ng koryente, cable service providers, kompanya ng telepono at mga kompanya ng internet na ilipat ang kanilang mga kable sa ilalim ng lupa.

“Following this system would be very beneficial to the Philippines because it will not only clear the streets of tangled wires and unsafe utility poles, but will also prevent and minimize blackouts and service interruptions. Underground lines and cables prove to be safe and reliable since they are more calamity-resistant,” paliwanag ni Herrera.

Sa kanyang panukala, ang lahat ng kable ay ilagay sa ilalim ng lupa sa loob ng sampung taon mula kapag naging epektibo ang batas.

Aniya, ang Davao City ay nag-umpisang maglagay ng kable noong 2014 at malapit na itong matapos.

“Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio signed an ordinance outlining the ground work for the project, and imposing heavy fines on pole users who will not cooperate and would delay work on the underground cabling of wires. The entire country should follow suit,” ani Herrera.

“I urge Congress to prioritize this measure, and make the unsafe and nasty overhead cables hanging from street poles a thing of the past,” dagdag niya.
