‘Kamay ng Malacañang’ gumagalaw vs prankisa ng ABS-CBN — Defensor (Palasyo naghugas ng kamay)

HALATANG gumaga­law ang Malacañang laban sa prankisa ng dambuhalang ABS-CBN Network matapos mag­hain ang Office of the Solicitor General ng petisyon sa pagbawi nito.

Ayon kay Anak Kalusugan Rep. Mike Defensor, malinaw na ang ehekutibo ay hindi sang­ayon sa pagpapalawig ng prankisa ng nasabing network.

“The OSG by filing a petition to revoke the ABS -CBN franchise is a clear signal that the executive opposes the extension of the franchise of the network,” ani Defensor.

Taliwas, ani Defensor, ang pagkilos ng OSG sa mga pahayag ng Malacañang.

“The legal action taken by the executive, the OSG representing the Republic, is a step beyond the utterances of Mala­canang,” dagdag ni Defensor.

Paliwanag niya, “Sa mga pagdinig na gagawin ng  Legislative Franchise Committee, makaha­harap ng mga opisyal ng ABS CBN network ang mga opisyal ng  Office of the Solicitor General.”

Aniya, sakaling aprobahan ng Kamara at Senado ang renewal ng prankisa, maaaring i-veto ito ng presidente.

Aniya, magiging inutil ang mga pagdinig.

“However, assuming that Congress, Senate and House, still approves the renewal, the President may veto the bill which renders it futile,” ani Defensor.

WALANG kinalaman si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa hirit ng Office of the Solicitor General sa Supreme Court na bawiin ang prankisa ng ABS-CBN.

Ito ang inihayag ni Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo kahit dati nang nagbanta si Pangulong Duterte na hindi na ire-renew ang franchise ng ABS-CBN na magtatapos sa darating na Marso.

“You must remember that the job of the SolGen is to file the appropriate petitions when he sees or feels that there is a trans­gression of franchises or any law for that matter,” ani Panelo sa press briefing sa Malacañang.
