Farewell to a stout-hearted lady

FAREWELL to a stout-hearted lady named Gina Lopez who had done her part sincerely and dedicatedly particularly in her advocacy for the abused children, her deepest concern for mother nature, her utmost concern in protecting the environment specifically from the harm and danger cause by illegal and irresponsible mining.

Gina will be most-remembered when she was tasked to be the Secretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). Her actions, programs and exemplary deeds drew the attention of the country and people in all walks of life.

These people just like her showed genuine love and concern particularly in protecting the environment. This is perhaps her primary vow as DENR Secretary. Eradicate illegal and irresponsible mining which could benefit a few businessmen. E paano nga naman ang mayoridad na kanilang pahihirapan para sa sarili nilang kapakanan at interes?

Unfortunately Gina wasn’t able to continue her quest and agenda for the country and the silent majority when she didn’t get the majority vote from the members of the Commission on Appointments (CA). She was automatically replaced as DENR Secretary.

Even in a short span of time as DENR Secretary, Gina will be remembered as a warrior and a stout-hearted lady who displayed uncommon valor particularly in stopping the activities of the gigantic, powerful mining magnate that could possibly ruin the environment for their own benefit and welfare.

Totoong tao si Gina Lopez, naipapahayag niya ang kanyang sarili, may prinsipyo at dignidad, higit sa lahat, siya ay nagpakita ng pagmamahal, genuine love.

Kung tutuusin ay walang dapat gawin si Gina sa mundong ito dahil nasa kanya na ang lahat, yaman, dangal at popularidad. Ganoon pa man, pilit niyang ibinababa ang kanyang sarili sa lahat… down to earth na totoo.

You will always be remembered by many people you had help physically, emotionally, mentally and financially. Ang mga taong tinulungan mong mabuhay, magkahanapbuhay sa sarili nilang pagsisikap hindi lang sa araw-araw, taon kundi sa habang buhay.

Ikaw ang kanilang inspirasyon at patnubay sa buhay. Ang lahat ng iyong ipinamalas na aksiyon at halimbawa ay hindi mawawala bagkus ay lalaganap sa sandaigdigan.

Mananatili ang espasyo mo sa aming puso. Ito ay magiging gabay, tanda at alaala na mayron kaming nag-iisang Gina Lopez na nakilala at naging kasama sa mundong ito. The brave and stout-hearted lady!

Kami ay taos-pusong nakiki­ra­may sa kanyang pamilya at nai­wa­nan most of all to Gabby, Raffy and Marisa Lo­pez.

Nawa’y buha­yin at manatili pa rin ang lahat ng kanyang sini­mu­lang programa at aktibidad. Ito ang siyang magiging tanda at alaala niya sa habang panahon.
