NAGPAHAYAG ng tuwa ang mga kongresista sa panalo ni Senator Manny Pacquiao, 40 anyos, laban sa mas batang si Adrien Broner, 29 anyos.
Ayon kay Leyte Rep. Yedda Marie Kittilstvedt Romualdez, nagbigay ng karangalan si Pacquiao sa Filipinas.
“Sen. Pacquiao’s victory is a testament to the faith and resiliency of the Filipino spirit,” ani Romualdez, ang chairperson ng House committee on accounts.
Para kay House Deputy Speaker at Batangas Rep. Raneo Abu laging nariyan si Pacquiao para magbigay ng inspirasyon sa mga Pinoy.
“Sen. Manny is always there to give honor and pride for our country. Thank you and congratulations!” ani Abu.
“Pacquiao succeeded in proving to the world that a Filipino can stand up to the best of the best anytime, anywhere,” dagdag ni Abu.
Sa panig ni Surigao del Norte Rep. Robert Ace Barber, ang chairman ng House committee on dangerous drugs, inasahan na ang pagkapanalo ni Pacquiao.
“Sen. Manny’s victory was expected and we thank him for bringing another honor to the Filipino people and to the country,” ani Barbers.
Kay Citizens Battle Against Corruption party-list Rep. Sherwin Tugna, ang chairman ng House committee on suffrage and electoral reforms, “Si Pacman ang salamin ng buhay nating mga Filipino.
“Pacquiao’s victory will lift up the spirit of many Filipinos. It is definitely a big morale booster to us,” ani Eastern Samar Rep. Ben Evardone.
Para kay PBA Partylist Rep. Jericho Nograles, pinakita ni Pacquiao na “age is just a number.”
“Ang Pambansang Kamao, Sen. Manny Pacquiao proved today that age is just a number! Against a 29-year old, Pacman made the Philippines proud and we thank him for that. Si Sen. Manny ang ating Bayaning Atleta,” ani Nogales.
Para kay Samar Rep. Edgar Mary Sarmiento, muling ipinakita ni Pacquiao na hindi lamang siya isang boxer kundi isang sports icon.
“Despite his age, he has shown so much speed, power and skill to defeat a much younger and much hungrier foe. Obviously, he still has so much to give in the world of boxing and we continue to look forward for these exciting fights, including a rematch with Floyd Mayweather, until he decides to retire,” pahayag ni Sarmiento.
