Federalismo ‘walang epek’ sa ekonomiya — Palasyo

WALANG magiging masamang epek­to sa ekonomiya ang paglipat sa federal system ng gobyerno, ayon sa Palasyo.

Ang pahayag ay ginawa ni Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque bilang tugon sa sinabi ni NEDA Director General Ernesto Pernia na masa­salanta ang ekonomiya ng bansa at mauudlot ang mga proyektong impra­estruktura kapag umiral ang Federalismo.

Ayon kay Roque, tinalakay at inilinaw na kay Pernia ang usapin.

“The shift to fede­ralism, we reiterate, would have no adverse effect on the Philippine economy. Our budget would remain the same, as identified national projects would be devolved and transferred to the internal revenue allotment (IRA) of local government units,” ani Roque.

Kabilang aniya sa mga nasabing proyekto ang pagmamantina ng mga kalye at tulay sa barangay, “water supply services, barangay health centers and daycare centers, solid waste disposal system of mu­nicipalities, among others.”

Inilunsad ng admi­nistrasyon ang P8-trilyong infrastructure program na tinaguriang “Build, Build, Build” upang mapaunlad ang ekonomiya.

“The role of the national government would be to continue to implement Build, Build, Build projects and would hence be concentrated on policymaking,” dagdag ni Roque.
