NAGIMBAL ang Palasyo sa pagiging ignorante ni Vice President Leni Robredo at mga kasamahan niya sa Liberal Party (LP) sa lagim na idinulot ng holocaust at nagawa pang ngumiti nang magpakuha ng larawan sa Holocaust memorial sa Berlin.
Sinabi ni Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque, nagimbal siya sa paghingi ng paumanhin ni Robredo sa naging aksiyon ng kanyang pangkat sa Holocaust Memorial.
“I was shocked when she apologized. Although she has already apologized, I can’t understand what they were thinking (when they did that),” ani Roque.
“I thought: ‘Didn’t they understand the place they were in?’” giit niya.
Mayroon aniyang “code of conduct” na sinusunod ang mga opisyal ng bansa na gabay para hindi gumawa ng kapula-pulang aksiyon sa publiko.
Ang memorial ay nagbibigay pugay at karangalan sa may anim milyong Hudyo na pinaslang ng Nazi Germany noong Ikalawang Digmaang Pandaigdig.
Kasama ni Robredo sa kontrobersiyal na retrato sina Liberal Party members Sen. Francis Pangilinan, Rep. Jose Christopher Belmonte (Quezon City, 6th District), Rep. Teddy Baguilat (Ifugao), Rep. Miro Quimbo (Marikina), Rep. Jorge Banal (Quezon City, 3rd District), Rep. Kaka Bag-ao (Dinagat Islands) at dating Budget Secretary Budget Secretary Florencio Abad.
