UMENTO sa sahod ng mga guro ang susunod na aatupagin ng Palasyo makaraan lagdaan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang joint resolution ng Kongreso na nagtaas sa suweldo ng mga unipormadong puwersa ng bansa.
“The President also stated that with the second tax reform package, he has instructed DBM and all other agencies to find means to increase the salary of teachers after the initial doubling of salaries for the AFP and the police. So the teachers will be next,” ani Roque sa press briefing sa Palasyo kahapon.
Hindi aniya binanggit ng Pangulo ang halagang idaragdag sa sahod ng mga titser.
“He did not say how much but he says that they will have to be tangible results of any implementation of the second tax reform package and he said that should be the increase in teachers,” sabi ni Roque.

PERSONNEL SIMULA NA
MAGSISIMULA nang tanggapin ng mga pulis, sundalo at iba pang uniformed personnel ang kanilang dobleng sahod makaraan aprubahan ni Pangulong Duterte ang joint resolution ng Kongreso na nagtataas sa kanilang base pay schedule.
Inilabas nitong Martes ng Malacañang ang kopya ng Joint Resolution No. 1, na inaprubahan ng Kongreso nitong Disyembre 2017 at ni Pangulong Duterte nitong 1 Enero, nagpapakita ng updated list ng base pay ng mga pulis, sundalo at iba pang uniformed personnel.
Sa ilalim ng nasabing joint resolution, naging epektibo nitong 1 Enero, ang entry-level uniformed officer – Police/Fire/Jail Officer 1, Private, Apprentice Seaman, o Seaman Third Class, na dating tumatanggap ng base pay na P14,834 ay tatanggap na ng P29,668 ngayong taon.
Nakasaad sa joint resolution ang two-tranche increase sa 2018 at 2019, habang ang ilang ranggo ay pananatilihin ang kanilang base pay sa implementasyon ng modified pay schedule sa 2019.
Ang hepe ng Armed Forces of the Philippines at Philippine National Police, kapwa may kasalukuyang base pay na 67,500, ay tatanggap ng P121,143 kada buwan sa 2018, at P149,785 sa 2019.
Nakasaad sa resolusyon ang pangangailangan na itaas ang kompensasyon ng mga pulis, sundalo at iba pang uniformed personnel “in order to make it more commensurate with their critical role in maintaining national security and peace and order.”
