LEGAL ang direktiba ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa mga awtoridad na barilin ang mga armadong rebeldeng New People’s Army (NPA), ayon sa Palasyo.
Paliwanag ni Presidential spokesman Harry Roque, ipinagbabawal sa batas ang pagdadala ng ‘di-lisensiyadong armas.
“Of course (he is within bounds), because anyone who bears arms is guilty of rebellion. The crime of rebellion is the crime of taking up arms against the government,” ani Roque kahapon.
“So natural, so when you are bearing arms against the government you are engaged in crime, you are supposed to implement the law and yes, the President has that power to implement the law. It is a domestic, not an international armed conflict, and an arms-bearing rebel is a proper military target,” aniya.
Noong Miyerkoles, sinabi ng Pangulo na dapat barilin agad ng tropa ng pamahalaan ang makikitang armadong rebeldeng komunista, huwag intindihin ang human rights advocates.
Katuwiran ng Pangulo, binabaril din naman ng miyembro ng NPA ang pulis o sundalo.
Ano mang araw ay lalagdaan na ni Pangulong Duterte ang isang executive order na magdedeklara sa CPP-NPA-NDF bilang terrorist organization.
Nauna nang pinirmahan ni Duterte ang Proclamation 360 na nagtuldok sa peace talks ng gobyerno at CPP-NPA-NDF.
