Pinoy doc ‘hinihingi’ ng US (Sa NY City terror plot)

KINOMPIRMA ng Palasyo nasa kustodiya ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) ang doktor na akusado sa pagsuporta sa naudlot na terror plot sa New York City at umano’y manggagamot ng Maute terrorist group.

Sinabi ni Presidential Spokesman Ernesto Abella, ang suspek na si Dr. Russel Salic ay nasa kustodiya ng NBI at sumasailalim sa preliminary investigation (PI) ng Department of Justice (DoJ) sa mga kasong murder at kidnapping.

Ibinabahagi aniya ng Filipinas ang mga impormasyon at nakikipagtulungan sa mga partner, ang ano mang may kaugnayan sa terorismo, at sa kaso ni Salic ay kasama ang “extradition proceedings” na inihihirit ng Amerika.

Magpapatuloy aniya ang extradition proceedings laban kay Salic kasabay ng preliminary investigation (PI) sa mga kasong kinakaharap niya sa bansa.

“We confirm that Russel Salic, who has been charged for allegedly supporting a foiled terror plot in New York City, is under the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). Dr. Salic, said to be the physician attending to the Maute Group, is currently undergoing preliminary investigation before the Department of Justice (DOJ) over kidnapping and murder charges.The Philippines shares information and extends full cooperation with partners on matters pertaining to terrorism, and in the case of Dr. Sa-lic will include initiating extradition proceedings being requested by the US. The preliminary investigation of the case against Mr. Salic will continue while extradition proceedings are being processed,” ani Abella.

Batay sa ulat, sumuko si Salic , 37-anyos, orthopedic surgeon, sa NBI noong 7 Abril 2017.

Si Salic, ayon sa AFP ay dating nagtatrabaho sa Amai Pakpak Hospital sa Marawi City, isa sa mga pagamutan na sangkot umano sa Maute terror group.

Sabi ng AFP, si Salic ay sangkot sa terror acti-vities sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng pondo at donasyon sa mga pinaghihinalaang terorista sa Middle East, US at Malaysia mula 2014 hanggang 2016.
