Babaeng pasahero ipinahiya ng driver, suspensiyon ng lisensiya inirekomenda ng LTFRB

INIREKOMENDA ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) sa Land Transportation Office (LTO) na magpataw ng suspensiyon laban sa lisensiya sa pagmamaneho ng  jeepney driver na sangkot sa panghihiya sa  kanyang pasahero dahil sa katabaan.

“The Board hereby recommends to the Land Transportation Office that the driver’s license of Mr. Arneto Palisan, be suspended in accordance with RA 4136,” ayon sa rekomendasyon ng LTFRB na may petsang 25 Hunyo 2024.

Bukod sa suspensiyon ng lisensiya, pinagmumulta din ng LTFRB ang driver ng P15,000 gayondin ang may-ari ng jeepney dahil sa pag-eempleyo ng isang driver na bastos, hindi naghahatid sa destinasyon, at panlalait sa katawan ng pasahero.

“The evidence presented in the hearing of the body-shaming case, tilts in favor of the complainant. It is as clear as the day that the driver, his conductor as well as the operator is at fault in this instance.

“The act of the driver and his conductor is not only abominable but has no place in a civilized society. The degradation and humiliation suffered by the complainant coupled with the brazen admission and unapologetic behavior of the driver and his conductor deserved scant penalty from this office,” ayon sa LTFRB Board.

Kasabay nito, binalaan ng LTFRB ang mga jeepney operator at mga drivers na huwag gayahin ang asal ni Palisan, kung hindi ay haharapin din nila ang legal action ng ahensiya.

Matatandaan na nagsampa ng reklamo si  Joy Gutierrez laban sa driver at sa kanyang konduktor sa pamamahiyang ginawa sa kanya dahil sa katabaan habang sakay ng jeep. (ALMAR DANGUILAN)
