SA nagdaang Star Magic Prom 2024, na ginanap sa Bellevue Hotel noong March 14, ang magkapareha sa pelikulang When Magic Hurts na sina Beaver Magtalas at Mutya Orquia ang magka-date/magka-partner ng gabing ‘yun.
Sa tanong kay Beaver kung niyaya niya ba si Mutya na maging ka-partner sa prom dahil mayroon silang pelikula, paglilinaw niya, “That is something na genuine. Super genuine ‘yun na even siya wala siyang alam sa proposal. Siguro nagde-debate ‘yung utak niya na baka magpo-propose ako.
“And on the other hand, alam ko kasi na she wants to go to the prom by herself.
“Pero I still didn’t give up.”
Aminado ang gwapong young actor na hangga’t maaari ay gusto ni Mutya na mag-solo flight sa prom. Totoong sumuway daw siya sa kasunduan nila bago ang proposal niya.
“Gusto kasi niyang ipakita sa tao na she’s an independent person.
“She wants to be able to inspire na independent na siya and do things that she wanted to do.
“Ganoon kasi ang personality niya, and I would say it’s one of the things that I really admire about her.
“Ang reason ko why I still did it is to make her realize that you don’t have to be alone to be independent.
“There could always be someone there, not exactly by your side, but someone you can trust and you can lean on if you need someone.
“Gusto kong ipa-realize sa kanya ‘yun, na I find her independent, na she can still be independent even if there is someone there for her,” aniya pa.
May mga nag-iisip na baka may espesyal na ugnayan sila kaya pinilit pa rin ni Beaver na ayain si Mutya na maka-date sa prom. Pero ayon kay Beaver ay wala itong katotohanan.
“Wala! Talagang friends lang talaga kami,” sabi ni Beaver.
“When the time comes that I enter a relationship, gusto ko prepared na ako for what things are about to come. Gusto ko na 100% sure.”
Pero aminado naman si Beaver na may espesyal siyang nararamdaman para kay Mutya.
“Attraction? Aaminin ko there is.
“When I wasn’t in showbiz, when I was a kid, celebrity crush ko na si Mutya noong bata ako.
“It was, like, I’m really happy na first time ko sa romcom and siya ang makaka-partner ko.
“I’m really thankful for that.”
Kung sakali, gusto ba niyang ligawan at maging girlfriend si Mutya?
Sagot ni Beaver, “I’m not denying the possibility. Who knows? If ever, it would be okay, okay sa akin.
“And ‘di ko idine-deny the fact na maybe siya nga ‘yun or one day I will.
“Pero sa ngayon, we both want to focus. We both want to cherish what we currently have.
“When the time comes that I enter a relationship, gusto ko prepared na ako for what things are about to come. Gusto ko na 100% sure.”
