NCAP sa QC ipinatigil

PANSAMANTALANG ipinatigil ng Quezon City government ang ipinatutupad na No Contact Apprehension Program (NCAP) sa lungsod.

Ito ay matapos na maglabas ng temporary restraining order (TRO) ang Supreme Court (SC) kaugnay sa ipinatutupad na NCAP ng ilang local government units (LGU) sa kanilang mga nasasakupan.

“The Quezon City NCAP program has significantly reduced the traffic violations in the affected areas by 93%. It has shown that it instills a culture of traffic discipline among motorists and we believe that its implementation is legal and proper,” batay sa ipinalabas na pahayag ng QC LGU.

“That being said, the Quezon City Government fully respects, and will abide by, the temporary restraining order (TRO) issued by the Honorable Supreme Court regarding the implementation of the No Contact Apprehension Program (NCAP),” nakasaad sa pahayag.

Ang inilabas na temporary restraining order ng SC laban sa polisiya ay “effective immediately and until further orders from the court.”

Iginiit ng SC Briefer, ipinagbabawal ang paghuli sa pamamagitan ng NCAP at ordinansang may kaugnayan dito.

Samantala, itinakda ng SC ang oral argument para sa kaso sa 24 Enero 2023 sa susunod na taon. (ALMAR DANGUILAN)
